Got the 35R, Now what?

I now have the RnR GT35R kit along with all the mods in my sig. Thing is, I dont know what to do next. Im planning on AEM EMS to tune but since money is a factor I dont know what else to do right away. Im going to get a new clutch, ACT with Xtreme pressure plate and turbotrix suggested the 6puck disc also, not sure if its needed though. Id like to be over 500hp on a dynojet Here are some ideas I had...

1) building the motor with the BR Spec Forged Pistons, Eagle Rods, ARP Rod and Main Bolts, Bearings and possibly running alcohol injection Ive read a stock motor is good up to 500hp but how do people come up with that? At 501 does it break and at 499 its completely safe?

2)going with a stroker motor BR or AMS although the cost for this is about 3,000 more than option 1 according to Buschur and this may turn out to be too expensive for me right now.

3) being happy with just the 35R. This is the money saving option and the one my girlfriend prefers although her opinion doesnt hold much weight.

Ive done some searching and just dont know if its worth it to spend the extra money to build the motor. Everyone always seems to say stroke it but its 3000 bucks more than a good build. Just looking for some ideas on where to go next.

Give me your turbo first, and while you are thinking about the next step, I will report on the turbo!

If money is a factor then option 3 is the obvious choice.

Actually the turbo doesn't need rebuilt internals, except the rod bolts. with my mods, I would just leave the internals alone. Alot of people on here do that. Smoggy, is one. Vishnus car is same way. my 2c.

slap on the turbo, get the AEM. Get a regular ACT clutch and you will be fine.

I will be @ the same cross roads soon...I plan on just leaving the internals stock and run around 450whp, and either when that gets boring or something happens with the internals, then I will rebuild it... might as well enjoy it each step of the way... bolt-ons...then turbo kit + tuning....then build the engine....its the life of your evo, enjoy every step of the way...

Also I would like to take some driving schools, and learn to use the car with mid 400 horse rather than just jump to 600whp...

Lots of people hit well over 500 on the stock internals. I wouldnt worry yet. Start worrying if you get to 600 or if you are planning to rev past 8500.

Wow 100 off. Big deal. Did you see the price of a short block at Buschur?

I think im just going to leave the internals alone then and put that money aside until a later date when I decide to run into the 600hp range or rev past 8500, which may not happen if Im content where Im at. Looks like the AEM and clutch are all Ill be getting for now...maybe some alcohol injection too..

Well looks like you and I have something in common. I finally decided to go with the GT35r as a daily driver. I already have the alky kit, ems and clutch. I'm just waiting for Bushcur to give me the word that the kit is ready to be installed so I can drop the car off. I'll still have the stock intake manifiold and throttle body on the car unless Dave suggests getting this upgraded. He did recommend getting 1000cc injectors though.

build the motor....
speed is addictive and even if you may think your aim is 500whp now...when u get there and get a little accustomed to it...you will want more. I wanted to reach 12's...i said when i get there that would be it...but had to keep goin..got to 11's..and now i want 10's...it's like a drug.

so build the motor...Also decide how much you are into drag racing...all the top tuners are using the 2 litre and not the stroker.
