Went past redline...

the stock rev limiter is 7606 RPM so if you went past that, there was no fuel anyway. try not to repeat it again so we don't have to answer ?'s on how to fix a blown motor...

My rev limiter is around 7800, when I went to the 1/8mi strip my friend said keep it in 3rd, I spun badly putting me in 2nd way early so 100 yards before I reach the gate I'm at the rev limiter just holding 7800rpms till I get there. Ended up with a funky 8.9 @ 87mph - my worst ET and best trap mph at once.
My point is don't worry about hitting high revs from time to time, if you been driving below redline for the life of the car and suddenly opened her up, you will be smelling fumes from stuff that should have been burned off long time ago.

YOU WENT PAST REDLINE! YOUR MOTOR IS NOT GOING TO LAST FOR MORE THAN 10,000 MILES. how about this, you give me your car and you can have my car because my motor never went past redline so my motor will last longer than yours and i can just fix up the motor. sounds like a very good deal to me.
j/k, i am pretty sure your motor is fine
