FQ400 engine oil?

I understand all "stock" EVO's are recommend to run on Mobil 10w-30, right? Does this recommendation also count for the FQ400? As most people tend to go a grade higher like 10w-40 (in fact most people even go for 50 and 60 grades) when the power is above standard, so I wondered what the official distributor and their tuners went for...

I thing the oil requirement will very more with the extreem cold and hot temps in your area than with the extra 50 - 101whp on the FQ4. Check with service manual

MOst tuners like the heavier weight oils when working with high HP turbos.

no, it just runs off the highest grade premium available in Europe which is sold by Shell. this prevents the owner from having detonation...

I think you are still supposed to use Mobile1 10W-30 for warm temps and can use 5W-30 for colder temps. Changing the weight and viscosity of the oil is not recommended as the design of the oil pump and passages haven't been changed from regular EVOs.
