Lifter, Cams and Retainers (did Search)

Hey all,

I have been doing a lot of reading and even more searching about the evo.

I've read that when you do the cam you need to bleed the lifters, now there was a thread with a vid about bleeding the lifters.

All very well but do you fit the lifters back without refilling them and hope the oil pressure will before they damage and if you do need to fill them - then How?

Secondly, what special tools do you guys use when you do a valve spring and retainers replacement?

Where can I get the tools?

Thanks

Mike

you don't need to refill the lifters, the oil pressure will do that for you. It'll take several seconds after start-up for them to quiet down, but you won't do any damage.

There are tools that make it easier to pull the retainers. I know Zeus has a lot of experience as well as others do on the EVO. Try searching posts by Zeus or maybe pm him. I remember one thread where Zeus named the tool he used for this very purpose.
