RPM Drop, possible clutch slipping?

Heres the situation:

Although I believe that this has nothing to do with it, I had the following parts installed yesterday:

technafit brake lines and clutch line & megan downpipe.

old mods include:

safc-2, and dejon mbc.

Today I noticed that (mostly) in 4th and 5th gear right around 3500-4000 rpms, when under 50% or more throttle that the rpms will either drop or spike by about 500, and then return to their normal course. I have never noticed this before and the engine sounds like the rpm gauge looks, so I rule out a faulty reading.

This is on an 06 IX with 14500 miles or so.

My first impression is that my clutch is slipping and will need to be replaced shortly, however before commiting to ordering a new one I would like to hear some opinions as to what you all think it could be. Thanks in advance.

yeah 14500 in like 4 months is alot lol.

the car has been launched, jumped, driven up and down a mountain everyday, and basically abused as much as possible. i bought it to have fun, not as a trophy piece.

so it stopped dropping revs today, but im gonna take it in anyways just to see whats up...... thanks for the replies guys.

Clutch?

Well my clutch went at 44K and I got in Dec. of 03. My RPM's went up then down as it grabbed what was left of the plate.

I thought it might have been the clutch and I was right. It had a hard life and I put a stock one back in. ($1066 at the dealer!)

Next time I will put the Exedy twin plate. I just did not have that amount of cash to burn at the moment.

Yep, I'd say its the clutch. Although I do got to say it lasted quite a bit with all that you put through it heh. Its a lot better than some people only managing to make it last up to 2k miles lol.
