Question about fuel pump install

Ordered a 255 fuel pump from lancershop.com...well according to the invoice i was supposed to get a GSS-342 (95-99 DSM) well they sent me a GSS-341 (90-94 DSM). My question is will the pump still work. i know its still a 255, but the filter on the bottom is on the opposite side than it should be here are some pics

The difference as you can see is the filter would be right under the return. Would this still work ok or should i get the 342 pump? i can modify the bottom to make it work. but my question is would it be safe having the return right on top of the filter?

Since the entire process of removal and re-install only takes about ~30 minutes, why not put the stocker back in and replace the one you have with the one that fits? It's a $30K car, I think it's definately not worth risking.

Good luck!
