Autoplus from the Philipines are running a Evo 8 MR with more than 720whp on stock tranny. I expect the Evo 9 to be capable as well.

A few people are running 600whp-700whp on stck tranny on the Evo 8.. the Evo 9 should be no less.

The car I mentioned has a JUN transfer case. I am not very familiar with the transfer case issues other than I know that on the 03-04 Evo were fragile..

In my opinion, from what I have been reading from this website, I think you will be good to 500WHP (maybe more). Depends though on you, your driving, and sometimes I think a bit of luck. There are some high horsepower EVOs out there still on pretty much stock trannys, and then once in awhile you read stories of near stock EVOs having issues.
