HP level and drivetrain

At what hp level will you need to begin upgrading the drivetrain. I am not talking about the clutch, but the ACD, Tranny, driveshaft, differentials etc. I have the 6 speed MR, so I know that will hurt me some. What I am looking to do is push the hp up to the max the stock drivetrain can handle.

Thanks!

Research it with the shops that do the work. They can give you professional factual answers based on extensive experience.

paul was racing last year with a pretty much stock tranny, it all depends on how you treat the car, personally around the 600hp mark is when i would start getting worried

While the MR 6 speed can't handle as much power as the 5 speed, it really does boil down to how it is treated.

I dont race the car anywhere, am planning to do an occasional drag run with it when I am done, but other than that i drive it pretty hard on the street. I change all the fluids (tc, tranny and rear diff) every 7500miles. Can I push 500whp+, drag it a few times, use it as a daily driver, change the fluids regularly and not have to worry about it?

Before changing my Engine out. I had 500whp for 50k miles and made a TON of drag passes, with ACT Street clutch and with Exedy Twin Disc. Did a ton of racing every weekend and ive yet to have any drivetrain problems (Knock on Wood). like everyone else said, its how you treat it.

OP, are you constantly slamming through gears when you drive? If you drive "normal" on the roads and take it to the track or the strip every once in a while, I wouldnt see why it wouldnt last quite a while. But when something does break, UPGRADE!

I can't remember exactly, but I recall Jon at TRE telling us that the TQ rating on the 6 speed was ~330tq. It's low, but as everyone has mentioned, it greatly depends on how you drive your Evo.

I'm over 400 on an 05 MR with a fully stock drivetrain sans fluids - All fluids are Motul changed at about 6k intervals. No visible wear yet. The car is a weekend warrior and tracked (road course) about 20d/yr.

Shock is more detrimental than torque. So size your clutch to your power level and dont abuse the clutch and the 6-speed will treat you well. As a side note Jon is offering performance 6 speed rebuilds now.
