2005 MR turbo size

Is it bigger than my 03 VIII turbo? And if it is, would it be any sort of an upgrade to mine? How so?

I have an opportunity to pick one up for cheap, and I was wondering if it'd be worth it.

they have been proven to make more power due to the larger hotside, and it doesn't matter whether it's MR, RS, or GSR, all 05's have the same turbo.

Only difference is the 10.5 housing exhaust housing (hotside). You can buy a housing for 250 bucks from many vendors on this board. The install isnt to bad but if you dont know what you are doing I recommend you take it to a shop to install it.

So if I can snag a whole stock 05 MR turbo for the same price or cheaper than just the hotside I see on vendor sites, I'd be better off doing that?

You found a 05 turbo for less than $260?

Nope. 10.5 hotside AND revised wastegate flapper design.

Yes, I can get the turbo and a vortex generator from the same person for less than that, shipped.

Now with this turbo with the revised wastegate flapper....is the 05 wastegate the same as my 03? I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row...I just wanna know if it'll bolt right up, or I'll have to buy more stuff. Thanks.
