Turbo ID for HKS GT3240 please .

Hi all , I believe these HKS GT3240's have been used by some on Evo Lancers . May I please have the turbos ID tag numbers so that I can identify the genuine article .

I've seen them advertised with an ~ 58 x 54mm turbine (HKS USA site) and a 60 x 55mm turbine (somewhere else) which would make it a 3040 , I do have pics of someones hand and a vernier caliper measuring the turbine as 63.99 x 58.8mm which is approximate GT32 84 Trim turbine dimensions . I would like to know if Garrett Japan cropped a 68mm GT35 turbine or used the BB shaft with a real GT32 turbine .

If I had my way the GT35R would also be available in 50 , 52 and 54 Trim compressors because I think its a better way of improving response than cropping the turbine which ultimately runs out of flow and creats a restriction before the compressor is all in .

Cheers from Australia , Adrian .

The 60 X 55mm is a GT3040. The specs I have on the GT3240 is 64 X 58.7. I am pretty sure they are using a true GT32 wheel.

GT30 turbines are ~ 60 x 55mm and from turbobygarrett site GT32 turbines are ~64mm diametre , the plain bearing type are available at least in 64mm 70 and 73 trims .

The pics of the 3240 I have are of a digital vernier showing 63.99 and 58.8mm , its definitely a GT style turbine . I tried to uplink the pics but this site tells me the files are too big .

Cheers Adrian .

anyone have experience with this turbo? im looking for something inbetween a 3076r and 35r, so far its this and the 3040r, but ive heard the 3040r is not good because its mismatched as the 30r turbine cant flow the gt40 comp. finally, like the thread asks, what is this turbo called if we try to order from garret?

what kind of car did this come from? power potential? would it fit between the 30r and 35r? and finally, does it perform well considering its a 30r turbine trying to power a gt40 comp or is it mismatched?
