Installed Forge MBC on my IX

I installed my MBC on my IX and holy poop what a difference. I was sitting with a catback, then installed my downpipe the other day while changing my oil... the throttle response was better but still no wowing.... after that little puppy went on, the evo woke up..... it feels faster then my 8 did already. UPS is bringing my cat delete today and then getting it flashed by Al after that and this thing should be quite the little beast. i got a buddy on here in an 05 that im waiting to race once im done with those mods.... he posted a 12.2 so im sure he'll get me, but i hope its close....

I hope you have a boost gauge bro, otherwise good luck, you might pick up your engine in pieces...

or maybe you can beat my record: 3 broken 4g63 engine by using only MBC and a lot of boost..

Just out of curiosity, is that the UNOS mbc? I ordered a forge unos and got a mbc that looks just like the one you have there, however, all the pictures of the unos look different than that. Just wondering. Congrats on the IX, i wish i had waited on one.

yeah its the unos.... and to the other guy, the boost gauge and pod was my first mod if you want to call it a mod.... im not new in the MBC with an EVO market. Right now im sitting spiking to 23 holding at 21 until the flash which means i turn it up 1 more click.

23 is pretty high on a IX, so I don't think you'll be turning it up after the flash. If anything, you'll turn it down I would think, but we'll see what Al's logs show, since he will be able to tell you what your true boost levels are via the MAP sensor.

Deffro, what do you mean by the pics always look different? Every UNOS I've ever seen in person and online have always looked exactly the same. The only difference is the color - black or silver.

its not running a solid 23, thats a spike... then holds at 21 or 22.... which was the same boost level i was flashed for my 8.... i dont see why its so high for a ix, the 2 cars minus the mivec are not that much different, and most the tunes i've seen from al set the boost around 21.5 or 22

I know it's a spike. That's what I'm talking about. You say most cars that Al flashes are at 21.5 or 22, which is true, but that's not 23, and you said you were going to raise it even further. Al will see what your true boost is and will tune to whatever is safe and without knock.

i agree, he will.... after reading what everyone else has posted with the mods they and i have, they are running the same boost i am, they are just tuned. After the flash i will have no issues i wouldnt think. i plan on dropping the boost down a click or 2... as a matter of fact, when i took the pictures, i dropped down one click. so i should be a .5 psi lower i think. will find out tomorrow

The flash will be the best thing you will do, granted I don't have an MBC on mine (ECU controls boost), there is a major difference in power when flashed!

get an MBC and talked to me about major difference .... im telling you, that MBC was a night and day difference... to spike at 21 and drop to 16 or to spike to 22 or 23 and hold at 21.... go get a mbc... and watch the smile on your face. i will be getting flashed though, i know it is the next world of difference that is going to hit me.

I'm in the market of MBC now, I see all these posts praising on the Forge unit. Why is it better than the Hallman RX? Before when Al carries the Hallman, he praise it like its the best thing since slice bread, everyone and their mom have one. And now he carries the Forge unit people are jumping in to the bandwagon? I don't see any real performance gain between the two, not solid data gain in hp and doesn't hold boost better than the Hallman. Actually I see the Hallman a little better since no one ever complains about them. Thoughts?
