After switching to Cusco oil when I switch gears it feels a bit notchy...to me its not a big deal but I was wondering if its normal for it to also feel a bit notchy getting out of gear as well right? It only happens sometimes btw

You will need GMShyncromesh or Pennzoil Shycromesh to get rid of that issue.

Synchromesh is the only gearbox oil you should use. Its been proven time and time again that it lubricates just as well as the more expensive brands, at a fraction of the cost.

I have used it in my Jetta nitrous powered VR6; and turbo/nitrous - LS/B16 Integra gen 2, and would recommend nothing else.

No. Relaxed shifts should be smooth.

Stay as close to factory spec oil or you may have trouble.

I'm waiting for the day when someone puts in Planter's Peanut Oil.

Do a search.

A lot of us use BG Syncroshift for the transmission and the LSD Diamond oil. Part numbers are floating around.

Im running the BG and my only complaint is when its really cold out the tranny is knotchy. After it warms up it shifts really good though, 10 times better than the stock stuff. The Pennzoil is basically the same stuff and can be picked up for a fraction of the price at any Autozone.

Drain out that oil and use another brand... Amsoil, BG Synchroshift works the best...I tried that together and also KAZZ fluid....apparently all the Japanese branded gear oil sucks... eventually worn out my synchros... Its not suppose to feel notchy at all at any time in or out...

i noticed this too in my 8 when i used royal purple fluids, same weight also... shifting was not as smooth until the car got really warmed up. i dont mean warm as in the temp gauge is mid range, i mean driving that thing for a good 10 to 15 minutes and shifting. In the morning, you could forget about having an easy day of driving. After it warmed up it was great. In this case it seems always better to stick with oem fluids or something very similar, leave the expensive stuff for the super machines. The Evo seems happy handing the super machines their hiny's shifting gears thru oem fluid.

When I'm shifting sometime's I get that notchy feeling as well. I'll be getting the BG stuff soon to see if that will hopefully take care of the notchy feeling.

I'm guessing the Diqueen that the factory used. I only have about 5000 mile's on my evo, I haven't changed the tranny fluid on it yet. But when I do I'm going with the BG synchroshift for the tranny, and the Diaqueen for everything else. Alot of people on here say that the BG stuff work's pretty good. Maybe you should give the BG synchroshift a try. Hopefully that will slove your problem.
