A lot of the stuff in the pics is german (e.g. the Maybach Exelero, Fulda, etc.). That car was first shown in the Frankfurt Auto Show, so my guess is that's where the pics are from ? The pictures are hosted by a guy named "misterF1" on photo bucket. If you go to the photobucket forum and do a search for posts by misterF1, it comes back with "invalid username" though. If you google "misterF1" you get some hits from german message boards. There's also a link to a dating board that says his name is Scott, and he is a 25 year old Man Living in oxford, Oxfordshire, UK. Any of the ladies want to send this guy an email and ask about that quad 4g63 pic ?

IMO the main weakness of the system is uneven exhaust backpressure across the cylinders due to uneven loads on the 4 compressors from the poor log-style 4-1 intake manifolding. Individual cylinder cycle analysis and cylinder by cylinder tuning - spark, fuel, cam lobe, and perhaps even exhaust and intake manifolding - will be useful.

It is true that turbos like pulsed flow to get going but if such complex a system is employed for quick spool, there is little point. More costly, more complex to optimize, more parts to fail. A high dollar race engine will not be operating in a low engine speed range anyway.

There are lots of alternate systems that do very well in certain areas, but are compromised in others. Study the most successful turbocharged engines in history and follow the trends - it will save you time and money. If you have lots of excess time and money, plus exceptional brains.. then experiment away.. maybe, just maybe, you'll lead a revolution.

It has a lot to do with the maturity of the design. If the block wa sin the picture it'd be easier to see that the collector is in the wrong position to pass under the oil pan. The space issues in packaging the wastegate and dump tube between the collector downpipe and the block. Plumbing the oil return lines around the wastegate. The oil feed lines... cooling lines... etc.

I understand that for display purposes this is the easiest way, but having a complete motor makes for better observation of the system.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no intake manifold anywhere in that picture. There is a log style collector for the compressor discharges, but that tube will lead to an intercooler (which isn't there) and then to an intake manifold (which isn't there either).

OK, I knew from the start that this would not be a practical setup. I posted this picture to gain more information on the shop/setup. I have no idea where this picture came from and I don't want any more speculation on it, I want hard facts. Thanks.

hahahahahaha.. what you want.. this is a public forum, things like this create conversation.. you should be thanking us cause we are keeping thread alive... tool..

This may be the guy that took the pictures if anyone is curious enough to ask

Actually, some quick research shows that this is indeed from autosport:

However, he states that this is an experiment with a Vauxhall head by Owen Developments.
