high exhaust temp

hey im running a ralliart sport comp ecu and now my old stock ecu is wasted from sitting in a damp basement or from being knocked around but ive got an egt and ive noticed the eshaust temp gradually getting higher and higher just at idle its betweeen 1000 and 1100 this doesnt seem normal and i noticed at full boost which is about 20 psi it can get all the way up to 1900 when i first started running this ecu it ran about up to 1600

any help on lowering the temp?

More fuel. You are probably running leaner with your ralliart ECU than you were with the stock one.

if your temp is goign up, it means your car is running leaner or u have to chck if your gauge is accurate, i would get a wide band or go on a dyno to check the air fuel ratio on your car.
On my 05 EVO 8 EGT @ 22psi would never go above 1400*C

It can also mean you have too little timing also if it increases, best thing to do is find a way to get it tuned

uh how does less timing increase exhaust temp? it s the total opposite, more timing will cause the car to run leaner, and increase exhaust temp

First, ignition timing doesn't change the A/F ratio. But if you light the fire later in the cycle, the mixture doesn't finish burning until later, it can even still be burning on the way out, that's why the temperature is higher. And guess what, the reason lean mixtures tend to have higher EGTs is that they burn slower. See how that works?

also should the exhaust temp keep rising as i get higher up the rpms or should it peak off at some point and stay. going down the high way i topped the car out at 155 and glanced over at the temp as i was going through the rpm it kept rising and never stopped it eventually buried the needle in the autometer gauge goes to 1800 i think

Actually, "lean-er" mixtures burn faster. IE: 13:1 will usually burn quicker than 10:1. In fact, its possible to run so rich that your EGT actually goes UP as you add fuel, despite the extra cooling effect of the fuel, due to the fact that the fuel is burning so much more slowly.

When people say that lean mixtures burn slower, they usually mean leaner than 14.7:1.

If you run too rich or if the timing is really off (or a combination of both) flames could be reaching into your exhaust past the exhaust valves, hence the high EGT. Buy a wideband.
