Sputtering.......different than others

I am getting sputtering at partial throttle at about 3k-4k. It does it in all gears.

If I go WOT, it goes with no sputtering. It is also making full boost at WOT.

I'm thinking about checking the plugs......would this be the culprit?

Already checked all the hoses on the intake (figured since I pulled off the intake pipe). But I like I said I am making full boost so I figured that wasn't the issue.

Check them and report back. did you see the video?"smokedmustangs misfire caught on tape" does it sound like that? if so, I deduce it is a plug issue. Keep us posted and good luck. Dont understand why it doesn't do it at WOT. It could be a mulitcylinder misfire code, P0300? go to autozone, and have them plug into your computer, and read whats up.

Sounds like might be experiencing flutter from your BOV? I'm guessing it's not misfiring since you are able to make full boost at WOT with no problems.

Good point. got another one to expierement with? That always seems to help track the problem down. what color spring is in the BOV? maybe its too tight, or too slack. I got the red one with my setup.

Yea, I'm using the red spring as well and it flutters on part throttle sometimes but it's just something I deal with because of the need to hold the higher boost levels associated with alky injection.

Well here is my thought......I did the plugs 2 weeks ago in Detroit. Drove around there, drove home, and up until now no issues. I am thinking I may have gotten a bad tank of gas. I filled up on Sunday night and only drove highway since then. This is the only real time I have driven stop and go since Sunday. I am going to get some gas treatment, run the tank down and report back here.

Thanks for the help....and keep the comments coming.

If spark plugs were the last thing done to the car before this started happening, that woul be a good place to start.

I changed the plugs today and it is still happening. BTW I am using the NGK BPR7ES spark plugs.

I thought it may be the BOV, but I have had it on since November with no problems.

Is there anyway it could be an intake leak? I had my intake pipe powdercoated and it was put on Thursday. The only reason I can't see this is because I am making full boost at WOT.

I need some help.....

check your spark plug wires coil wires for any type of arching marks, they look like really small black pin ***** burn marks. there could be a problem in the wires somewhere. the problem might not be in the plugs. As the current flows through the wires at that specific RPM there could be some kind of arching issue. I had a problem just like that on my other car it was an RX8. Dealer replaced the plugs and damaged the wires in the process. you cant see the damage but my car had a stutter around 4k rpm in every gear. I found that the spark was arching out of the wire. I changed the wires and fixed the problem.

Well still doing the same thing. Took a look at the plug wires and nothing out of the ordinary.

I was thinking......would a bad o2 sensor cause a problem like this? Also thinking about TPS sensor......camshaft sensor; just throwing ideas out there.

BTW I noticed I didn't mention it but I am getting no SES light.

Find someone with a functioning BOV and swap 'em for a test drive.

It is weird. I swap out the BOV......car seems to spool quicker.

Problem is still there....not as noticable.

I am going to double check all the intake hoses.

I forgot to mention earlier.....the sputter is worse when the car is cold. Once it warms up the problem isn't as bad.

Any other ideas?
