Has anyone tried 264/264 comp cams?

http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...08&cat=0&page=

I see lancershop now stocks comp cams 264/264 duration. Has anyone tried these and know how they compare to HKS 264/264 cams in the powerband. Also would the valvetrain need to be upgraded to use these?

I just orderd 272's from comp. I think the comps are a little more agressive. They have a higher lift. With the 272's i had to order springs and retainers also. I would think comps' 264's would be a little more agressive than the hks.

i heard the turbotrix cars use them. but i was talking to a few people and they told me just go with HKS. so i guess alota people either dont like them or its just not a good cam.

Actually if you look at the cam cards, these are not really anything like the HKS 264. They are just marketed this way so that "we" will have something to compare them too. You can take a good look at the difference if you check out the Forced Performance website.

I just installed the Comp 272's. They will work with the stock valve train per the cam designer at Comp. Even though the website says you need springs you don't. I personally think they are a little better than HKS, especially when you factor in the cost.

I really don't think you would want to go with anything less in duration than 272's even for autocross. I was looking at the 264's but ended up getting the 272's per Comp's recomendations. I'm very happy with them. No low RPM loss and pulls very strong up top. I have my cam gears set at -2 and -2 for right now. It lopes alittle at idle but, has never stalled even with the A/C on.
