Does the bumper really have to be removed???

Heyy...I will be purchasing a larger intercooler along with its upper and lower intercooler hoses soon. I am trying to debate if I can purchase any of the three parts and not have to remove the bumper in order to install them. Does the bumper have to be removed to install:

core (I know yes)?

lower intercooler piping?

upper intercooler piping?

Im looking for what piece(s) I can just throw on with the bumper on. I plan on doing the rest of the piping/core at the same time when I take the bumper off. So which ones can I install with the bumper on? I dont need the bumper off for all three do I? Thanks!

the core-definatly yes
lower intercooler piping-yes unless you have really small hands but i seriously doubt it can be done with bumper on
upper intercooler piping-you can do it without taking bumper off

man, listen.

i am one who likes to try to do things removing the least amount possible. I ALWAYS TRY TO DO THIS because i am hardheaded and lazy.

BUT, 99.999% of the time it ends up taking longer to try and cut corners by not removing stuff....because it takes 3 days to get to a bolt or you drop something because of the akward angles you put your arms in.

Long story short, remove the bumper. It takes all of 10 minutes to take the bumper off and it will save you atleast 1hr of headache. Trust me.

You can keep it on for the upper pipe if it will bolt up to the stock lower pipe but for everything all at once the bumper will come off.

Thanks man...I understand removing it for the lower and core. Do you really need to remove it for just the upper though??

My opinion is that it would be easier to just remove the bumper. As was said above me, it only takes about 10 minutes. You will most likely spend an extra 10 minutes trying to work your way down to loosen the clamps.

I did my upper and lower pipes without rmoving the front bumper, wasnt that bad. BUT i then had to remove the bumper when i did the front mount and after i took it off and saw how easy it was i kicked myself in the a*s for not just doing that the first time. Its easy dude, just take it off. and like gsujeff said, I do the same thing. I try to remove the least amount possible and 98% of the time i end up wasting time, effort and knuckle skin and end up taking off the things i should have originally. by this time its usually night time and my gf is getting pissed cuz we're supposed to go out or sumthin and i havent even gotten close to finishing, let alone showered and got dressed. short answer...... pull the bumper!

It's rediculous how easy it is to remove the bumper. Seriously like 5 minutes and then everyhting is accessible.

If your really worried about removing a bumper cover, maybe you shouldn't be modifying a car.

Listen to what everyone's saying. Its so easy to take off the bumper, and takes so little time it doesn't make sense to not take it off.

Forget about how easy it is, but it's required if you are going to remove the stock intercooler for any reason. So your question becomes moot since you are going to have to remove the bumper anyway, just do it and it will make installing the IC pipes much easier.

I can get my front bumper off in 5-6 minutes flat. Its so easy I dont know why people consider this an issue? Just take it off, so much easier!
