Would love to see you at one Vishnu_Evo8! GGLC in March at thill for $145!

I plan to. I have no suspension mods and will remain that way for this entire season. Next season, I may start upgrading.Originally Posted by Vishnu_Evo8

Damn man you might completely skip 11's and hit 10's. Good luck with the new found parts.

Hahaha, right. Everyone in Utah, used to do ricer math and assume that times people were running at sea level would be the same, based on mods up here.Originally Posted by 05WhiteEVO8

Not so.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that pump gas and alky is as good as C-16. It's not. If you want to run high boost use the real stuff, C-16. Up here I don't think you'll make more than 25-26 psi of boost. 28 psi up here, if possible, makes the turbo well out of a legit flow range, 28 psi is a flame thrower.
sethrichmond ran the fastest stock turbo time in Utah, I think it was a 12.3, I forgot the mph. He is a Buschur Boy with all their parts and tuned for C-16 on an AEM.
If you break 11's that would be sweet, then you can drive over to RMR in SLC and do it again to prove to us that we are The Suck at the dragstrip.
PS. Drag racing is lame... Miller Motorpark is where the fun will be this summer.

Gettin' a little testy here...calm down now. You know I also auto-x and road race. I'll be at MMP at least once this year with the NASA-RM group. Drag racing is not lame. It's just not as fun. However, it is cheap and easy to do without a lot of preparation, time, and money. It also allows you to see power gains and power differentials. Originally Posted by jid2

Alky is fine. It may not be C16, but it not only acts as fuel, but provides a cooling affect, which then allows for more timing. So, when I run 25-26psi, I can still also use a nice timing advance. I've never used C16 before, so I'm not too worried about it. I ran all my times with just a mix of 110 and 93. I don't think 12.3 will be that hard to achieve. That would mean there's a .7s differential, which is 70whp, which for me would be a 20% power loss. If the local dynos are correct with their huge SAE corrections, then that may be what happens. If there is only a 10% loss, since we have turbos, then I'll be knocking on the door of 11s.
After driving my car up here now, I can still feel tons of torque and plenty of power, but I do feel it die off in the upper RPMs. That will be where the lack of ET/MPH comes from. Whatever happens will happen, but I'll be trying my best. Don't count on me driving from the Springs to SLC just to prove anything, though. Maybe when I come to MMP I might be able to hit the drag strip while I'm there or something...

All you need is maybe a rear sway bar upgrade w/ the MR suspension. I've done quite a few track days in my evo, both w/ and w/o a bigger rear sway bar. Trust me, big difference, much more neutral car IMO Originally Posted by Warrtalon

The experienced and skilled Autocrossers in my V710 thread say otherwise. They use the OEM sways and hated the aftermarket ones. I'm content with my stock suspension, and when I do upgrade, it won't be minor bits like sways and strut bars - it will just be coilovers from GSC. Right, Greg?! Originally Posted by SILEVO8

Well, I guess that's they're opinion. I was referring to Road Racing only. I did 4 events last year at Summit Point, 3 w/o and 1 with the Hotchkis rear sway upgrade. Anyone who's road raced will tell what a difference that makes, Originally Posted by Warrtalon

Though R-Compound Tires 1st
Coilovers 2nd
Then Rear Sway bar/bushing 3rd/

Yeah, that makes sense. They were just talking about auto-x. I also know plenty of DcEvo guys with rear sways and such, but they have trouble keeping up with the stock Warrtalon-mobile. Originally Posted by SILEVO8

I'm doing that path like you said anyway. I have tires now...coilovers will be next...then after I know how to REALLY drive and can feel the deficiencies of the car, I'll add whatever is needed next like sways/bushings.
