Peak Boost FMIC install and review..

ok, this is my take on the new peak boost fmic. take if with a grain a salt folks if you find any of MY opinions offensive or nonfitting to your needs. ok, first off. the good
good.
1. fits to all the stock bolt locations
2. fits behind the stock crash bar
3. all welds and brackets are correct and nice
4. no noticable boost drop. (stock 05 turbo holds boost fine)
5. very sweet looking

Not so good:
1. as shown in the pics the drivers side inlet did not meet up well
2. had to trim the metal brace that bolt to the inner side of the bumper
where the mesh is factory bent to get the bolt. (see pic)
3. white welding residue on all edges (hard to get off)

install was quite simple. other the very minor trimming the thing went as peak boost promised. i like this FMIC very much. I run a spec2 ebc and the stock fmic at high boost would spike real bad and max out my map sensor. on cold mornings even on low boost 21-21.5 it would warn me a little till it settled. no huge spikes that hold and no fuel cut (ie spark cut) as of yet. havent tried to run 26-27 spikes yet. This may be false but it seems as tho this helps. anyway thats a whole different story.
I would definalty recommend this unit. big thumbs up to Peak boost.
ps. those are my new evo dave headlights also. tasty looking "A".

the rest of the pics. you probably cant tell. but at the center mesh there are two bolt on either side that bolt the bumper to the crash bar. the metal flages that bolt to that had to be cut in order to get the bumper to push completly in. the fmic is f-ing huge guys thanx agian to peak boost.

Did you notice any power increase?I've been looking at this intercooler along with a few others (Busher,Nesei,PWR) and I just can't make up my mind.Do you know what it weighs?

Thanks

Um I did mine with muiltiple mods so i cant say... I didnt notice any pressure lost thats forsure. I would stick with one with a garret core like this one or the buschur if your going to get one seems like they have less pressure drop than the nisei. Weight wise its a lot heavier than stock... The buschur race unit looks nice especially for the price

Great install! nice pics too! What did you use to trim, so you could fit the intercooler?

its hard to say. ive got other things like cams/ exh/ intake ect. so i cant realy say if its got more power. i wont be able to track it either since my gt35r is going in b4 i can hit the track again. it does weigh alot more than stock tho.
