cam gears???

Hey guys. i was going to pick up a set of hks cams (264/272) and ive been reading some people like the cam gears some say dont do it. i figured since im replacing the cams with aftermarket ones i should go ahead and replace the gears. Since the factory cams are suppose to work with the factory gears shouldnt you change them? I was just trying to make sure before i bought them thanks again also i was going to go with the fidanza gear set

Cam gears are a tuning tool. They allow one to make adjustments to the mechanical tuning of the engine in order to make it more efficient in specific rpm ranges. Like any other tool, the degree of usefulness depends on what else is in the powertrain, the specific goals of the user, and the other tuning tools he has at hand.

In short, cam gears should be considered an experimenter's part, and in the right hands, can be used to eek more power out of a specific application.

well if your going to do them later its better to get the gears now and save money and time. your already going to take everything off why do it again just do it and your have more power with both the gears and the shafts
