mine sat good I think. but then every one always asked what it is becasue it was tucked in there.

 

I just got my hks ti carbon exhaust installed. for some reason after a while of driving i would hear this clicking sound has it gets hotter and i drive like its rubbing something then when i come to a idle it would stop. the sound comes and goes while i'm driving. any clue as to what it might be? i've checked and there is no leak.

 

My guess is your bpipe resonator is hitting the ujoint on the driveshaft

 

Yeah i just install my exhaust over the weeken with my brother and at first we set the exhaust more in the center and it look pretty good but when we drove the car we heard chattering noise coming from the center of the car so further inspection it showed that since we try to angle it to much towards the center it made the b pipe hit the drive shaft u bolt. so we adjust the hanger bracket counter clockwise so in order to put it on the hanger we had to force the exhaust canister towards the right (passenger side) and then hook it on so therefore the hanger held it enough to the right to clear the driveshaft u bolt. the exhaust sort of sits low but i notice my buddy's IS300 looks the same so it ok with me. the only thing that sort of bothers me is that pretty close to the rightside of the bumper so it leaves exhaust stain on the bumper i even have the heat shield but still have the stains. so i hope this helps at all

 

if it hits will it damage it?

You guys proably installed it wrong. I have a HI power which is the same as the 30anv and CT Ti, no problems here,

 

well the thing about a hi power hks exhaust is that i think the hanger is already welded on it so you dont have to make any adjustments, but for us carbon ti guys the hanger for the canister needs to be adjusted even the hks instruction said if we dont position the exhaust right there will be some chattering noise i am going to re inspect mine later on tonight and will give you guys a follow up

 

ok I just installed mine last night, and I had a little o2 fix on it as well. But at the first the o2 sensor (with p2fix) will not fit into the little (very little) space between the Catback pipe (where the hks 02 bung)and car body. Butwe just let it touch the car underbody. then when I test drive on the road... the rattle sound is LOUD .. So I drive back to the shop and have it inspected.

then we thought it could have be the 02 fix which is pushing the catback pipe back into the shaft. so we took the o2fix off the car and put the original o2 sensor back into the bung without the o2fix.

Now the chattering sound comes up when I make a turn on any corner........ and the SES light just came up tonight.....
