Boost leak

Sup guys ive got a IX and the only mods under hood is a perrin boost tube and a blitz bov... It was fine for about 1 month then all of a sudden if i get on it hard it will taper back down to 16 like normal then sometimes it will make a "squiisshhhh" sound and only boost at like 10 and sometimes lower.... I'm sure it is a boost leak...maybe the clamps on the boost tube just aren't tight enough?

Maybe your BOV is bad. Is it in or out of the intake pipe?

buy some T-clamps, and re check ur install, if that still doesnt fix it, do a boost leak test.

Good luck

I'd help you, but I don't know what the hell a boost tube is, and I don't know why you didn't just get a Forge UNOS or Hallman Pro. There's no way we can troubleshoot your problem for you online. YOu have to test everything and narrow down the possibilities by trying a different MBC, different BOV, checking boost lines, doing a pressure test, etc etc etc.

Every evo owners knows the common tools needed for everyday evo driving. Like me for example, I have a boost leak test built into my ear, half a toolbox in my trunk, the other half is in my glovebox with every t-bolt clamp size you can imagine. If you havent been ****ing with you car for more than 4 hours and still cant figure it out, than you come on evoM, dont be lazy.

P.S. take your bov off, and put the stock valve back on and I think you wont have a problem.

Hey Warr.
I believe a boost tube is a silcone pipe from the MAF sensor to the turbo inlet. I might be wrong though.

E VOL IX, why in the hell would you put blitz BOV on the car when it has the great JDM MR DV (BOV) already on it. Put the stock BOV back on, ITS BETTER.

Hey, can you take a pic of your boost tube installed, I just wanna see what it looks like installed.

The EVO can be picky when it comes to BOVs. Its best to use your stcok one, it can hold up to 24lbs of boost and you are probablynot boostin' more then that. Is you BOV vent to atmosphere or recirculate??

I offered to to a boost leak test on your car so we would know and then you could come back a here and tell everybody " yea that bov is a pos" or whatever it is .

Guys i checked all the clamps on the boost tube they are tight as hell... checked the gasket on the blitz bov it is fine... still makes "squisshhhhhh" noise and drops to 10 in hard acceleration.... put stock bov back on re-circulating.... still makes noise in acceleration...... i dont know what it could be.. ive got a autometer boost gauge and the nylon tubing is not long enough to go throught the other side of the car... got it rigged throught the finder and pinched but it wouldnt make my boost fall like that tho.... dont know wassup... anybody else experienced this problem???

Check all your Vacuum lines even if you didnt touch any of them...You have a boost gauge right? Check the lines on that also. Im afraid to use a Silicone pipping...if the Stock rubber ones expand under acceleration, wouldnt the silicone ones do the same?

Did you check all your intercooler pipes, clamps and everthing, from the throttle body all the way to the turbo. Looked for blown off or broken clamps..?
