So it costs $800 to get the tranny rebuilt, then how much would it cost in total with installation and everything?

P.S. I got my pedal adjusted by someone else.
Thugline did you have the Centerforce Dual Friction Installed? PM me if you did. Sorry for the off topic.

thanks
Shepherd recently rebuilt my trans. I couldn't be happier. Its silky smooth, and just clicks through the gears with very little effort. By far the smoothest manual i've ever driven in a street car. I can't wait to see what its gonna feel like once I put the new shifter bushings in. If you have the money, send it to Shep. But if money is a concern, you might want to bring it to Mitsu and have it fixed under warranty.

$800 is just for the upgrade:

* New 1st gear synchro
* New 2nd gear synchro
* New 1-2 shifting sleeve
* New 3rd gear synchro
* New 4th gear synchro
* New 3-4 shifting sleeve
* New 5th gear synchro
* New 5-R shifting sleeve
* New seals , shims and snap rings

If anything else needs to be replaced like gears or input shaft, its extra. I'm not sure about how much removal & install will cost. Different shops charge different prices. Mine was done when I had my new block put in so it didn't really cost me anything extra. But i would think removal/install would be about the same as a clutch replacement. Some charge $350, some $650. Depends on who you go to. I'd guess you'd be somewhere around $1150 - $1500 total. Could be more, but probably not less.

For MR owners: Shep recommended that I switch to a 5-speed race tranny rather than try to beef up the 6-speed. He has his own 6-speed and the gears are just much narrower (weaker) and thus putting in a built-up 5 was the way to go by his advice. Personally, I would really love to have the extra gear....and just have sixth gear really, really tall (for highway cruising and for high top-end) but that's not available and the 6-speed tranny is probably too weak for heavy mods by his report.
