Shep Tranny

I have an 06 Ix and am having grinding issues to 2nd. Does this tranny solve all those issues, are there daily drivability issues with this tranny. I'm looking for a durable tranny with no daily drivbility issues

thanks

what kind of mods do you have ? why dont you take it in to get warrantied first ? more than likely you will have a brand new tranny in your car in a few days.

Why don't you take it back to the dealer? It could be a simple clutch pedal adjustment.

An adjustment is adustment no matter if it's 3,4,5, or 6 speed. If his issue is due to the clutch not disenaging when he shifts at high RPM, then it may need some adjusting. I would still take the car back to the dealership because it's still so new and have them check out his transmission thoroughly.

I might take it back to the dealer but the fact that it might happen again or per previous threads (they fix one synchro but another fails) is kind of a pain. Anyways I wouldnt mind having a tranny that I know will prob last. Thats why I wanted poples opinions on Shep trannies.

p.s. no mods just floor mats

Why dont you try to change the fluids to something like BG or amsoil..? Might solve your problem, solved mine.

sounds like a good idea but wouldn't you consider changing the fluids to be a temp fix since some trannies dont have problems and others do. There has to be an underlying problem mechanically that putting in fluids will only temp fix it.

When I got my Centerforce clutch and fly installed @ Brainstorm performance in L.A., CA they did not adjust the pedal and when I try to shift fast it grinds . Do you guys think if I put that (BG) synchro fluid in my tranny it will solve my grinding issues.

P.S. I got my pedal adjusted by someone else.

Pennzoil Syncromesh works the best. This is what Shepard himself recommends.
