GT35R Installed!!! OMG... So Much Fun!

After a few weeks of buying parts, installation, and tuning, my car is finally done. All I have to say is this combination feels so perfect. I have the following:

03 Evo 46k Miles
RNR GT35R Turbo Kit
HKS 280 Cams
Upgraded Front Mount Intercooler
PTE 880 Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
SMC Alky Kit
3" TBE
Greddy Profec B
Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve
Cone Style Filter
Wide Band, Boost, and Oil Pressure Guages
Factory ECU flashed by John from Jestrtuning

The car was tuned extremely conservatively for 93 octane gas. At 19 PSI the car made 361 HP. We then cranked up the boost with a little meth (pretty much the same tune) and made 471 HP at 32 PSI. The car feels amazing.

I was skeptical about this turbo at first due to all of the talk regarding how laggy it was and so on. Well, I have this turbo and I will tell you that the lag is minimal. I honestly dont notice it. I only realize the lag when I look at the RPM guage. The car may not be at full boost at 3500 RPM, but it damn sure is not slow at 3500 RPM either. Once you hit 4700 the car screams... I mean I cannot desribe what it feels like. Sort of like one of those toy cars that you pull back and let go...

The best part about this turbo is that it keeps on giving. No dying at 6500 rpm... This thing will pull as long as you want it to. I am extremly happy with the upgrade path that I have chosen. For those of you considering a GT35R but are concerned about the lag, my advice is to ride in a car that has one with minimal upgrades. You can then see if this turbo is for you. A lot of people who say the turbo is too big for the street may not have ever been in a car with a 35R much less own a car with one.

I'm not saying that the turbo is perfect. I dont think their is such a thing as a perfect turbo car. Will it blow? Maybe, anything is possible, but while things are good... Man they are good.

Special thanks to Jerry in Tampa for installing all of the parts, CFT in Orlando for their Dyno and technical support during tuning (those guys at CFT are the Best, oh great prices also!!!) and last but certainly not least, John from Jestr for tuning this car into a safe monster with a Flash! I highly recomend all of these individuals!!!

I'll post the dyno sheets in a bit...

Later!

I was hoping for 550WHP with that setup, those are GT30R numbers, what is your A?F ratio?

I run 19PSI daily. 32 PSI is for special encounters.... I guess We'll see...

From what I undersand the Evo block is good to apprx 500 in stock form. I drive the car almost 200 miles per day. Did not want to push too much. With all that said, I'm sure the car is capable of 500+ hp easily.

As far as my AFR, apprx High 10's. The car was tuned for 93 Octane. I did not want to run meth all the time. Basically, it was tuned for 93 then we added meth and turned up the boost. I'm sure we could have been in the 500's, but when we reached 472 is was satisfied. This was on a Mustang Dyno. Not sure how they read...

Also, I'm not sure how much more HP the Factory ECU would support. I have a flash. Not a standalone...

This really turned out a lot better then I originally thought... So much fun!

why is that? PSI by itself is 100% irrelavant.....its about the HP #'s which he is well in the safe range, so please....make sure you get your facts straight before you confuse dumb people and we have to hear everyone saying "oh yea, i read some guy on the internet said the EVO can only run 32psi! oh MAN NAWZZZ OMG !!!"

end rant...sry
