Pesky P0401 code caused by boost gauge?

Okay, I tried 2 or 3 different ways to tap into a vacuum source when I first got my EBC installed on my Evo. When I bought the car, it had the Mitsu gauge cluster (water temp/batt volt/boost) and at first I teed off the line from the factory boost gauge. Well when I'd set the boost to 19 psi on the EBC, the car would freak the hell out and hit overboost. So I left the stock boost gauge hooked up to where it was, and then I tapped my EBC into this line:

Didn't have a problem after this with overboost. So then I tapped the stock boost gauge off of the same line.

So every once in a while, I'll throw a P0401 code, which is EGR flow insufficient. Just about every thread relating to this code has someone finding a line off the valve itself. Not me. I've always had both lines on there.

Now is this line I've tapped into have something to do with the amount of vacuum the EGR sees and it freaks out? Or what?

Or give me some other places to get a good source of vacuum for both my boost gauge and EBC. Thanks.

thats not where the egr valve is...the p0401 code is usually from the vacuum line on the egr valve coming off....theres a nipple on the egr valve feel it and see if the vacuum line is connected to it

THat place you tapped in the pic is good for a boost gauge but I don't think its good for a boost controller. It should be tapped into the lines by the turbo and boost silonoid, IIRC.

I have the boost solenoid tapped into those lines you referred to.

The reference for the display is tapped off the same source as the boost gauge, so that the ebc display psi is the same as the boost gauge.

The line that blows off is underneath the throttle body... In that general area.

The line that usually pops off is in the back of the engine bay towards the fire wall about in the middle of the car. right behing the EGR. I looked 2 times and I missed what I was looking for but i finnaly found it and hooked it back up and it fixed the code.

Thanks for the help fellas, but I've dug around in that general area numerous times. No lines are off.
