how much about is it to install just these parts. anyone know. i cant find it anywhere online and called to vedors and they only said they do it when the motor is out for rebuild. im geting a tune soon so i want to do this befor the tune.
Well i see that you live in NJ so you wont be able to go to TT-P in florida but they advertise head stud install at only 30 bucks and i dont know about the rod bolts. sorry i couldnt be much help

Are you planning on running higher boost and higher than stock RPM's?
If not, I wouldnt worry about it. The added insurance is nice but IMO not necessary for your mods. If you were upgrading your turbo, then lyou would want the head studs. If you plan on revving past 8000 rpm (in which case you will also need to upgrade the stock valve train) then your bottom end will be fine.
The head studs are relatively easy as they can be done one at a time for the R&R. But the rod bolts will be the time consuming job.

i want the rod bolts for safty. i here that alot of evo's have a problem with the stock one's being week and causing motor failure. i will be geting cam's and reving past redline. i just want to make my car a lil safer. plus al recommends this as he and other vendors know that the stock hardwhere is not up to task.

Yes I've read many of those threads too, but I personally think it's being blown out of proportion. It only takes one member to say something like "I've heard somewhere that stock evo rod bolts are weak" (based upon a thread or two) before 20 other members read that and regurgitate into other threads as a proven fact. I've seen that happen so many times here. (stock 20g in an evo9 anyone?)
That being said I think head studs are cheap insurance and I plan on putting them in when I do alky. I have no idea how much a rod bolt install would be so, but am curious so maybe someone will chime in.

Add my car to the list of spun bearings. 10k later my car is being put back together.
You can play Russian Roulette if you want to but I would suggest doing this safety mod if you plan to rev the car to >7.5k RPM

This is completly ignorant, but i thought i read somewhere that you can do an in car rob bolt install? I'm not trying to tear my engine apart, but if can get away with just taking off the oil pan i am all for it.

Like Superhatch said, an experienced mechanic should have no problem doing the rod bolt swap.
