Forge Unos MBC Problems

Okay, so I've read all the threads about people having overboost issues with their Forge Unos MBC. It happened to me now this morning. Luckily I was looking at my boost gauge and in the corner of my eye I saw 30 psi! I backed off immediately. Next pull shot to 26 psi. At this point, I'm affraid to go WOT and think I'm having more WGA problems. (I was in an accident and they forgot to replace my WGA.) But after reading these threads, I know it's my Forge.

Okay, so now my questions are...

1. Can I ever be confident in using this MBC? I dont' want to be scared to go WOT and stare at my boost gauge all day long.

2. If I take the steps that Mike at Forge, Al, and Warrtalon say to fix the problem, will it come back? (Clean it, lube it, seat the spring, etc.)

3. How many people still see bad spikes and problems after lubing and cleaning their Forge MBC's?

4. I trusted my Hallman. Held boost just fine, but was harder to adjust. Should I just switch back? I don't have anything bad to say about Forge's Customer Service. I'm just not confident in their product now, unless there is a sure way to remedy it.

Thanks

Verify that the problem is your UNOS first. I've had mine since October and not one single problem....at all.

Cleaned it and greased it as best as could yesterday. Answered my own question this morning on the way to work. Did a fourth gear pull and bam, boost shot to over 25psi. It only did it once now since greasing it, but I'm not risking this anymore. It 100% is the Forge MBC. The Hallman is going back on tonight! No clicks, but at least it won't be the death of my motor.

Yes it has. I really don't mean to trash a great vendor and service department like forge, but I don't think I could ever drive my car with confidence again with this mbc.

I understand where you're coming from. I've had the same issues. I am going to clean/install the stiff spring this week. If I ever have the problem after that....hello Hallman.

All you need to do is clean out the bleeder hole for the wastegate line with a thin paper clip

The problem has been well documented as a build up of polishing compound in that tiny hole

I have been told that with futuyre production Forge intends to pay closer attention to that area

"Well documented" where? I'm sorry, but 3rd party postings on some obscure internet forum does not constitute "documentation".

Thegame - did you receive any notification of the issue directly from Forge or your vendor? I didnt see anything on their website about cleaning the valve. Did you receive any mail, email, phone calls, notices within the product box, etc? THAT is documentation. If so, then great, good for Forge and your vendor for being responsible.

I'm the one who reported this problem months ago. After a lot of research (and countless times of taking apart the Unos) I solved the problem by cleaning and greasing the ball and spring. It's been months since that day and haven't seen a single spike again. The suggestion of cleaning the bleeder hole was given by Al after I solved my Unos problem, so that shows you that it didn't apply for all.

This is why I wont buy another Forge product my BOV turned out to be a expensive paper weight. I keep seeing all the excuses why is it every time something goes wrong with a Forge product the customer has to fix something. I just love the post saying the next one or future models will be better. I would say stay with the Hallman never any problems and nothing to clog.

I think it might be your WGA, becuase everyone that had the Forge UNOS problem solved it by cleaning it like Al said.

I dont know what to say, IMHO Forge makes a great resonably priced line of products which works really good. They had a minor set back with the lack of oversight with the cleaning of the polishging material on the MBC's but its really easy to fix.

I know its frustrating when you have a problem of any kind, All i can say is that the "problem" is very rare and now Forge has a handle on it. I understand that Forge is fully aware of the situation and that all new units they are shipping are free of any clogged area.
