I have the XS Engineering cams (more lift than HKS), but how are the Crowers "bigger" than the HKS 272's? I remember seeing that the lift was slightly less than the HKS...is that not the case?

Best not to compare cams with cam cards. They really dont tell much. Back to back testing is far more valuable.

I agree wholeheartedly, that is why I asked you. How did you come up with that conclusion?

Im also interested in this. Will crower 414's make significantly more power? How would these compare to the HKS 280's?

Ive been saving for awhile and didnt want to end up buying too many parts I wouldnt need with a bigger turbo setup...like hotside, o2 housing, 20g, injectors, intake etc....I always knew I wanted to go big so I just saved for it.

I haven't used HKS 280s on a stroker and have not comparred them to crower. I have tried the HKS 280s on a 2.0 and hated the idle. Switching from 272 to crower 414 netted 47whp at 7500rpm 26whp at 7000, and 12whp at 6500. At 21psi boost. No loss of bottom end or spool.

Whoa! Same dyno, same conditions, same motor...47whp at the top? Hmmm...that's REALLY impressive.

My car is at Buschur getting a similar built. In addition to what you are thinking, I am getting the Stage3 Head, 65mm TB with ported intake manifold, HKS DL2. I think since your head will be out, I would get the stage3 head. With a bigger turbo, it would help you.

My car is almost done but I need to get a pair of headlights or a wiring harness for them as I sold them before I took my car to Buschur. I don't know what I was thinking

Im really interested in the 414 cams and found them on crowers website but they are listed for a 1st/2nd gen eclipse and I dont know if there is a different version for the EVO or those are the ones I would use since they are all 4g63 engines. The duration on the site says 242/245, which may not mean anything, I dont know much about cam specs, in relation to HKS's 272's and 280's. Is there a vendor that has any experience with these cams who I could talk to and purchase them from? any info would be great...

The 414s are a 280 cam. Look at catalog. They don't have the catalog updated with EVO cams. You will have to call them for the part #. The dsm cams will not work in an EVO. You will not find much help from venders on this one. Crower cams got some bad feedback years ago. Bad batches that were not nitrided were sent out. And there are lots of posts from those who have indexed the cams to find them not indexed perfectly. Their reputation has never really recovered. Locally here they are very well known and very well used. They nothing short of kick **** on hks272 cams. That I can promise you. At the track my car went from 122mph to 126mph with no other changes.
