Helix IC Pipe Sound

I just installed my Helix IC pipe kit this weekend. I used the T-bolts to prevent leaks as best as I could.

However, the sound of the turbo is much different with the new pipes. I've always heard it through the intake, but now it's more high pitched and whiny. It's hard to describe, but what used to sound like a siren now is more like a whistle ("weee", rather than "wooo"). Is this normal, or does it sound like a boost leak? I intend on doing a pressure/leak test soon, but wanted to know if anyone else had the same issue after install. Thanks.

Is that noise always on when the engine is running at idle? Does it get louder when you rev? I dont have those sounds. The only sound i get is the bov sucking in the air when i WOT and the bov woosh when i let go of the throttle.

No, the idle sound is the same, it's just when I'm on boost that I hear the higher pitched whining. The timing of the sound isn't really my concern, it's the higher pitch and increase in volume.

Have you ever heard a car with a hard upper intercooler pipe? The aftermarket doesn't resonate the sound of the turbo spooling as well as the stock pipe does.

Unless you have a boost leak, theres nothing wrong with your car.
