boost help

Hey guys,
I have been only able to boost 10 psi. I don't know what is wrong with my car but I talked to Works and they said it could be a boost leak but one of them said that it was something called "failsafe" that the ecu actrivates when it sees something unusual. Works also said you are not notifed throuigh the CEL which is weird. Can someone help me how to check for boost leaks? Thanks

johncy

Did you just add a mod? We need more info.
Also put the stock wires back- unrelated to your issue.

well one day i decided to put 100 octane and raise he boost. It got a really unstable spike to about 1.65. thae next day i went back to pump 91 and it was boost max 10 psi no matter how much i adjusted the MBC. and why should i take the wire out? just wondering. thanks

I can't imagine why in the world Works would mention the ECU in limp mode or whatever when your ECU has no control over boost due to the MBC. It's gotta be something related to your boost lines. Have you double-checked your vaccuum hoses going to and from the MBC to ensure they are all still connected? If so, then you should do a pressure test next. I doubt it's a boost leak, because 10psi is base wastegate pressure. People see this boost when their boost control system isn't hooked up right.

Flowing too much air across the MAF without a flash that removes fuel cut (or a device that fools the ECU into thinking less air is crossing the MAF like the SAFC).

Basically, the ridiculous combo of mods in your sig would cause fuel cut all the time, I'd guess...

The HKS RS (can't believe you already bought that so soon after removing the Typhoon), the BOV, and the FMIC all while untuned. You'll be ok after April...
