Part Throttle Boost Issues.

like the title says at part throttle when the boost gauge reads about .5 to 1 bar the boost fluctuates like it was surging. i here the diverter valve fluttering like its not sure what it wants to do ( its a older forge one ). i do have the new 20g-9-5. im thinking its the forge valve unsure what it wants to do but looking for some help. thanks

ps i have the strongest spring in the valve.
pss only happens at part throttle and boosting 1.5 bar . valve holds just fine at full throttle.

If you put in a softer spring, it will release boost more easily at part throttle and help alleviate that flutter.

question about softer spring

if i have the strong spring in there now and its fluttering, then how would a softer spring help the situation? wouldnt a softer spring make it worse? shouldnt the valve be fully closed?

uhm... the car will try to vent as soon as any throttle is released... what kinda part throttle are you talkin 'about? the kind where your foot might twitch a lil holding hte gas in teh same spot? or steadily but slowly increasing boost?

if it flutters in the latter scenario then that' means you're leaking, softer spring would be bad. but if it's the first scenario then are you letting off at all?

in any case if you want the most responsive valve you gotta get a mitsu style one. reference "the end all bov thread" for more info.

pressing the throttle down gradually it wont do it, its when i want dont want to go full throttle and i just part throttle it when it flutters. my foot is pretty rock steady when its doing it, to an extent where it shouldnt flutter like that. i really dont think its a issue that will hurt anything, its just annoying. like i said part throttle, not letting off at all and it flutters.

What gear is it doing it in? Is it 5th gear mostly?

Also, the red spring in the Forge BOV is too stiff. The yellow spring will be much better.

i think i know what you mean, sometimes with my stock valve it would "not decide what to do" and flutter around a bit. i also don't think it will hurt anything but if you're worried about leaks then you're only gonna be able to overcompensate. i run the 1g with a dejon tools leak stop... it's perfect, but since my valve is uncrushed it flutters with every vent. if i crushed it it would stop, but i don't mind so much.

well only higher gears because its hard to hold boost in 1st and 2nd because they hit too hard.

and y is the red srping too stiff? when i run race gas i dont want to have to keep switching the springs. also this wasnt an issue with the stock turbo.
