FMIC: stock vs Rnr vs Buschur race

In january Jarrod visited Milwaukee and we got to talking about some of their new products. So being the excellent sales person that he is I ended up purchasing the Buschur race core.

Does everyone remember the Buschur packaging thread where there was shredded newspaper all over the place? Well it was something like that for myself.

First up is a picture of the stock FMIC next to the Rnr

Next we have the Buschur next to the stock

And lastly the Buschur next to the Rnr

Here is a few more:

stock:

Rnr:

Buschur:

Ill give my observation on the Buschur when it goes on the car and take it for a drive later today.

Im sure some of you are wondering why I am getting rid of the Rnr core. PM me and I'll give you my reasons.

thanks for the comparison photos. It's always nice to see side by side views of competing products. Driving comparisons are even better! Keep us posted.

Not to sound like an *** but good for them. I won't even look at them or their products anymore.

OTH I went out for a drive and their is a noticable difference. I am trying to look for some logs to see if I have any temp readings from the rnr core, I haven't looked at the temp with the buschur core yet but keep a look out for further info.

I did. That sucks. Hopefully UPS will fess up to their screw-up. There was very little damage to the outlet, maybe a 1/4" band, it didnt even hit the bead. Bent it back in place all is good.

Although when I did take it for a test run I pulled about 5psi and I heard a boost leak, sounded like a siren. When I was replacing a silicone hose up topo I forgot to tighten up a clamp, thank god for speed density. Drove back home found the culprit clamp, did antoher tightness check on every hose clamp and get the car a beating.

It feels like the car has more power, I had to turn the boost down a little so I can hover right at 25psi (alky). The Rnr had a leak on it for sometime, but thats for another thread. Im just happy to be done with Rnr and their company.

So in my case what do you think is gonna happen? I have my boost controller settings totally maxed out..... I spike to like 27.5 PSI and drop from there....I'm also running alky and an AEM EMS...

Not sure how an AEM boost control works. Check for leaks, they kill performance.

I'm using an HKS EVC 5 for boost control.

I meant to say I hope that installing the FMIC will help my car feel faster and make more power...... although I do have a lot of power already for a stock Turbo'd 05 EVO. i wonder if it'll be noticible???

But anyhows, in the hot summer climate I'm sure this FMIC will keep the car running better...

the thing is though that RNR makes a bigger one 12x24x4 so why not compare that one?
