I'm guessing yes.

AMS's dyno doesn't read any lower then any other Dynojet. They use the SAE correction factor which will lower HP in colder weather. Pruven, Turbotrix, and others will post up higher uncorrected numbers in the winter and higher SAE corrected numbers in the summer. It's all dyno games. The gain can be up to 30whp depending if its uncorrected or corrected.

ok i had a dynoflash before it was through the mail not custom and it wasn't for the mods i have now, the reason i got a flash was because i added the cams/hotside/o2 housing. I am very satisfied with how the car feels, like someone said on this thread a dyno is just a tool i agree, there are people on this board with numbers way up there with similiar mods and im just like woah mine seem low compared to theirs what i should be doing is comparing it to others that dyno at AMS and my numbers may be lower since i have a HFC and a HKS tapering exhaust i doubt there are any boost leaks since my gauge shows boost holding steady and no sounds of boost leak. All ill do now is go to the track and see what i trap at, trap speeds dont vary like dynos do

You got it, BigAeVo! The HFC and smaller ID exhaust aren't helping, plus you probably posted SAE figures. The numbers _seem_ low, but the track will tell the tale. Thanks for clearing up the previous flash details. It was just a mail-in flash and wasn't designed for those 3 recent mods (very good mods, btw).

I do also agree that you should slap in some NGK BPR7ES gapped to .026...

What do you mean I don't do my sponsor credit? Not sure what you're referring to, and I'm not sure what the asterisks mean.
actually, after the initial licensing fee, the cost of retuning an Ecutek is usually much cheaper than a custom dynoflash. Figure in that the average Evo owner has 3-4 reflashes, and it's not a bummer anymore.

How could you go wrong with Martin at the controls. He tunes everything from his customers cars to his very own which is more that I can say for some.

IMO I think it is time that evolutionm made you pay to play here. If you are going to proxy sell products for your sponsoring vendors I think you should have to become a silver vendor at the least.
agreed

I was trying to coordinate the timing so Al could re-flash, because like I said I was very happy with thetune. Irtwasnt in the cards. the *** really was ment to be ..... as a long pause between statments. Like you had said in another post sometimes its hard to read the person tonality, it sound like you were ripping on the tune. that was my point. It was getting late and me sleepy, and I was like come on WTF.

That's why I said prolly a little lower. I bet I'd make low 300's as it sits on AMS's dyno.

What I tend to see from this forum is everyone rides on the BIG HP #. Why? As you just stated it is a tool, nothing more. But everyone thinks it's the greatest thing in the world to fling out a great number. Does this make you a better driver? No. Does the Big HP # get you better trap speeds? Well now we'd need to argue who tuned it, what parts, what dyno, etc, but the answer could also be NO. It's really not worth the hot air. It can be a nice TOOL to see how much power a part could possibly make, but that can be fudged. Hell everything can be fudged except the real world trap speed (unless your talking about photoshopping a pic or vid). Think real hard about it....from my old 2g it made the same trap speeds everytime (give or take a MPH here and there) of 106. It didn't matter whether I had a 2.1 60' or a 1.7 60'. As I developed as a driver my E.T.'s went down but my MPH remained pretty much the same. What does this mean in the end of ends?? It means that the car was capable of high 12 E.T..(I ran a 12.91@105 in high 90 degree weather). Now then an ESTIMATE of HP could be determined (calculators, etc). When the car was finally dyno'd just for ****s and grins with the car club, it made 260HP. This is not the typical HP of a high 12 second car.
I thought that the dyno was a waste of time, unless you do it for what was stated above. Other than that, go to the track and run your car out to see what you can get as a MPH. Your car may have pulled a WEAK HP number as said by others, but sometimes you'll find that your car pulls the 120mph trap (and it made 307HP on the dyno) while the other car that pulled 330HP ran a 112mph. So in this case, would you even care that car X made more power on the dyno, but couldn't pull the same trap speed yours did with a lower number. I don't think you'd care much at all, and probably feel good that your car pulled what it did.
Dyno's are good tools and nothing more.

Now go have fun with your car and run it down the 1/4 mile! Bottomline enjoy it!

Just to give an idea how the dyno might relate to others, I dyno'd 313hp 304tq at AMS and then soon after at the track trapped a 113.

nice tom, i let mike drive the car and he said it pulls very similiar like yours but a little less maybe, hard to tell, its probably because of your testpipe/intercooler. Anyways the car drives great and pulls hard, my next step before i dyno again will be adding a testpipe/intercooler and piping, and maybe an exhaust that doesn't taper who knows. But for now im going to enjoy it and hit the track up.
