Mitsubishi backed performance mods

I talked to a customer service person at Mitsubishi today and they told me some pretty amazing news. One of the customer sercive managers said that Mitsubishi has certified a few aftermarket performance companies so that it wont void your warrenty. They said they didnt know which companies for sure, but said that the dealership should know. They also said that on a part not from one of these companies, you can only be denied warrenty work if the dealership can prove without a reasonable doubt that the problem was caused by the aftermarket part or parts. Im still really unsure about this, but since it came from Mitsubishi it is promising.

Id agree with that except it wasnt a dealer that I talked to, it was Mitsubishi. I called 1-888-MITSU2002 and talked to customer sevice. Its the number on their website.

I do believe that HKS will be the one doing the "official" aftermarket performance parts. They definitely have a very good relationship with Mitsu...

It sounds as though you're unsure about warranty only being affected if the problem can't be traced to an aftermarket part. Do a search and you'll realize this has been talked about tons. Your warranty is not some magical mysterious thing. If you break something, then it's your fault and they won't warranty it. If you install an aftermarket piece that breaks something, then it's your fault. If it breaks because of their own fault, then it's covered under the warranty. This isn't a Mitsubishi thing - this is a car warranty thing... all cars.

RMR will probably be on the list too.
