best turbo manifold for the stock turbo
so ive been debating this for some time, searched a bit, found some stuff. but nothing conclusive. i really dont plan on upgrading my turbo in the future. so im looking for a turbo manifold that works best with the stock turbo? any help is appriciated! thanks
For your stock turbo, stick with the stock ported/coated manifold. There's no reason to get anything else. Spend $175 and make as much power (or more) than all those others except for the Full Race, which is not something you'd want for your stock turbo anyway.
well how does the stock ported and coated make more than the others? i understand it's cheaper and makes roughly the same amount of power. but why? if the other turbo mani's have bigger piping and better flow? how does a stockie provide more power.
i've searched for this, but no answers that i found. alot of them are just dyno sheets as oppse to why other mani's make more power than others.

2. Correct clyinder pairing for firing order and twin scroll turbo design.
3. Less interior volume to fill = faster response.
A well engineered tube mani can and will probably out perform the stocker, but not without some trade-offs, or at least not until you've got some big HP and RPMs.

Why ask why if the dynos show the proof? I don't know the physics behind it. Wingless gave you some possibilities, but if you buy an aftermarket mani just because you can't believe that it doesn't out-perform the ported stocker even after seeing dyno proof, then I don't know what to say. You could spend less to get more while having no worry of the mani cracking and keeping underhood temps way down. Hard to beat that...

My ? to you is did you test this product yet. This is the best manifold you can buy made over 12hp vs magan, ported stock, dc, and jic. all others only made 10 or less hp all these runs where done on the same car with no tuneing and you cant beat the fact that it has a life time warranty and the others dont. This test was done out of a local shop out of AZ i dont remeber which one i remeber them talking about it.
Jmartinez, I said the Full Race was the best, but it only made 4whp more than the stock ported/coated on back-to-back tests at Buschur. It is a very good manifold, but for the price, there's no need to pay that much when still on the stock turbo.
$899 vs $175 for an extra 4whp...

After extensive research, I landed on the ported and coated stock manifold, as Warrtalon recommended. There is no reason to justify spending an extra $700 on MAYBE 4 awhp. Maybe.
I'll be going with the Buschur porting and coating job.
