I installed this 175cpsi hf cat today, my first impressions are:

Better low end torque (1500rpm - 2900rpm)
Better spool up
Better mid range (2900rpm - 6000rpm)
Better engine response
NO smell
Noise increase, not too much. Idling noise = the same as stock cat.
Quatily: very good / Stainless Steel
Instructions: Japanese
Bolts and gaskets supplied
Fit: perfect
Environment: It seems that this cat pollute the same or less than stock cat.

I have a custom 100cell random race cat.Just enough to kill the odor,but runs as good as test pipe.

 

I can still smell my exhaust at idle w/ my 200 cpsi Helix cat and I'm still on stock cams. The Helix cat is enough to not smell on the freeway though.

The G-tech meter gave me an increase of 10hp and 10lbs of torque. The torque curve improved a lot from 2500rpm to 5500rpm.

I recommend this mod!

No, there is photo in the manual showing the heat shield facing the road.
