transmission =[

so i'm on my way back to school, and i'm driving down I-75 when i go to shift down from 5th to 4th, and it won't come out of 5th. So i pull off the side of the road and check my transmission fluid and its almost empty, apparently i have developed a leak. So luckily i had 3 qts of synchromesh in my trunk and it takes 2qts before its full, YIKES. Well now the car seems to make a few extra clanks and such when idle, shifting into gears. Wondering how much potential damage could have been done.

Your lucky your tranny didnt seize , im sure that you caused damage the question is how exstensive is it ? Sorry to hear that your tranny was leaking , was it from the drain bolt or other area? You always drive around with tranny oil in your trunk

looks like its from where the transfer case and transmission meet up. Transmission still shifts very smooth, just makes some awkward noises =[

lol i have 5 qts of mobile 1, radiator fluid, tranny fluid, and and oil filter in my trunk lol

Me too

I too notice a clunk or a clank when I place it in gear. I just thought it was the racing tranny and didn't think anything of it.

Somone on here can confirm but there is a gasket/seal that goes between the tranny and TC. I say split them and replace the gasket/seal. Beats having Shep rebuild it agian. GL

I just replaced my clutch and noticed it on my test drive.. Im all stock so Ill be taking it in, except the new clutch exedy stage 1.. you think they will give me crap for having that clutch and what do you think my problem might be?? Im going on tranny..

hrmm yeah I was thinking same thing.. and since me and my friend did the work on replacing my clutch they will blame me for the tcase or tranny... even though I brought it to their attention when I first purchased the car back in aug.. it wasnt so bad before the new clutch, but its rediculous now wiggling my tires trying to move from a stop.. i figured we didnt align the shafts right when reinstalling into the tcase or tranny hrmm

I'm wondering the same thing. It would be a cakewalk if it were an automatic but a manual tranny is much harder.

stuck my pinky finger in the fill hole, didn't feel any fluid, so i started adding some via a vaccum hose and fluid bottle, filled it up til some started drizzling out of the fill hole.

There is a black skinny O-Ring in between. It is likely easy to damage if you have had your clutch replaced.
