When Stew got his tear down done to diagnose him spun bearing it cost him somewhere around $600 at the dealership. The rebuild is what is going to cost the real big bucks. Don't forget to throw upgraded components in there .

sounds like a variable between injectors ticking, somewhat knock, valve lifters at a cold start, to hard to tell really unless in person but bring it to a shop just to be on the safe side

Now I’ve never actually heard an engine knocking but from other peoples descriptions that I’ve heard this to me sounds like engine knock.

Will someone who has heard an engine knocking please confirm?

Put the clutch in and see if it goes away. A rattly throwout bearing sounds alot like engine knock.

if the car has a warranty, and you have no aftermarket parts on the car....take it to the dealer. otherwise, pay 3k for a stroker and call it a day.

stroker is looking like a good option VividRacing has a 2.3 stroker kit for $2000.00 and they are selling the Bushur kit for $2200.00

FYI, Piston slap is the skirt of the piston slapping against the side of the cylinder, not the valve. It happens from the piston rocking in the bore of the cylinder usually I believe due to worn rings.

Have any idea why you would be experiencing that?

no I have no clue why this is happening. My car has very basic mods plus its been custom tuned for the mods I have. I don’t beat on the car I actually drive it very conservatively.

So I finally got my vehicle towed to a local performance shop today. The tech told me its just the lifters ticking. I advised him I’m aware of the lifter ticking sound but there’s another noise coming from the back of the engine. The tech said he would drive my vehicle and let it idle for awhile and get back to me that was at 11:30am this morning and still no word. I plan on calling in the morning.
