checking spark on an evo

so i tried to fire the car finally tonight and no luck. cranks fine, has power, has fuel pressure (i popped off the line to the rail and fuel pissed out) but i think that i have no spark.

i pulled a plug and wire out, not the one with the coil on it, and put the plug in the wire grounded the plug while still being in the wire on the ground on the intake mani, tired to fire fire the car and the plug didnt create a spark.

is this the way to go about checking spark on an evo? if not let me know what else to try. but if it is any suggestions where to start checking?

1. Check the fuse/relay for the ignition coil. 2. Check for voltage to the coils while you crank.

Usually i'll check the injector pluse width, crank position sensor and cam position sensor first. Fuel pressure means nothing if your injector is not opening. Good luck.

Juest get a test light and poke on one of the injector harness and crank the motor. If the test light is blinking that means there is injector pluse, if the ight is not blinking than check your crank and cam position sensor. One of the injector harness is ground so test both the wire.
