Question .82 a/r question with 3076R

I was thinking of going with the .82 A/R. Can you guys give me some feed back. I have the RNR kit with .48 GT3076R. I made 373 whp on pump 93 @ 21psi (fully spools at 3800) What kind of numbers would I be looking at and when would it be fully spooled at?

What kind of dyno did you run on to make 373whp?

I just got my RnR 3076 w/ .48 installed but have yet to be tuned. I was thinking of going with a .63 a/r...

btw, I think u need to update your sig.

Honesly going with a .63 is a great mod if you are running a .48 on the hotside. But if you are going to jump to a .82 I don't think it will give you as much of a benifet unless you are reving the car past 8k rpm. I have never tested a car with the .82 so I can't honestly say but it only makes sense, I have been wrong before though. Just dump the .48 if you can its worth the money.

I also have an RnR GT3076 kit..just ordered my .63 5-Bolt housing from ATP after discussing it with ATP...results in a few weeks (building my motor now..so I have to break-in the motor 1000 mile and then tune).

When I spoke with ATP they told me that Garrett never designed the GT3076R to run in a .48 housing, and there's no way a .48 can flow like a .63 (as claimed by precision). The GT3076r was designed to work in the .63 housing ONLY. ATP say the .82 won't make much of a difference until after 7000+ rpm when upgraded from the .63, so the .63 is the best way to go on that turbo, as claimed by ATP!

BTW, I think the 373 whp is good...both my friend and I made 350 whp @ 21-22psi on 90 Octane, and that was on an AWD dynojet.

Hope that helps....

I have a 3076r with a .82 housing...LOVE IT! On a TT flash I made 397whp @ 23psi pump. Now remember this is pump numbers and the flash is not as great as a Stand alone or piggy back. Lag is truely overrated, you will lose about a couple of 100 rpm in spool up but make it back on top end. I think by putting a .48 backhousing you are restricting the turbo significantly. I also am using the RNR ramm horn manifold. I dont think you will be dissappointed with the .82 housing. Like I stated before Lag is overrated. I suprised the S@#T out of this guy driving a CLS55 the other day. We went at it from 3rd thru the top of 4th gear (at the track of course) and we were side by side. I am just waiting to get the Meth injection and a retune and 450whp here I come. Get the bigger back housing to create that HWY monster. BTW I ran a 13.1@117mph with a 2.4 sixty foot.

That was my point exactly, I think somone needs to explain to PTE that AR stands for Area/Ratio and is a measurement not a guestimate of airflow.

That's really not that Great of a Tune even on a flash. You should really have about a 120MPH trap on pump gas. People have made well over 500WHP on flash's.

Yeah, that's what I am saying, 117MPH with this turbo is pretty bad.
