Passes the Wife Test, thanks to David Buschur

I finally had an opportunity to take my Evo off the trailer and drive it around the block today after its return from Ohio

I was shocked when my Wife asked me "Al, what did you do to the car it seems more "normal?"" I asked her what she ment and she said that my car is much smoother, quieter and does not sound like its a junk yard dog any more. In fact she and my Daughter even wanted to go for a ride.

For the past year and a half my Wife has refused to get any where near my Evo so it was nice to take the family out for a spring ride.

Only a genious like David Buschur could re-configure my car to make it have 250 more whp and at the same time make my Wife less miserable having to listen to my car comming up and down the road. His new 3.5" Racing exhuast seems to defi physics and his AEM tuning ability makes my car idle almost like a stock car which is impressive given the radical Forced Performance cams I am running.

Thanks David

My ? to you is why would you have buschur tune your car when you are a Factory trained AEM EMS tuner. Sound like your not able to tune your own car i kinda find that sad in a way. Im not bashing you or nothing like that dont take it the wrong way im just asking.

Because even when you are a trained professional, there is always someone out there that has an insight or knowledge that you dont. I have been an ASE certified Alignment tech for the last 6 years, but does that mean if between Robi and I, he were to do my alignment I am any less qualified? No, I could do the same job (and did today actually) of actually aligning the car to spec (or GT4 specs or whatever) but I dont have the same knowledge he does about EVO specific tuning. Its all about the subtley. What seperates Da Vinci from Picasso.

why is that sad? Al in the past often praised Dave Buschur for his expertise. doesnt mean a pro cant get advise/assistance from another pro.

I second this, Tattoo artists dont do their own work on themselves, yet some turn out great work on others.

I agree, lots of tuners do It, if I am correct I believe out of all the big major companies (in terms of drag) AMS are the only ones to tune there own cars besides the privateers.

first off, Its impossible to tattoo yourself on the back of your neck...you need two hands to tattoo properly. But as far as doing tattoo work on their legs they go to other artists.

Secondly, Sometimes other people can tune better, or have different specialties in tuning. Especially if its your own vehicle, id say itd be better to have somebody who is not as farmiliar with it to tune it. Doesnt mean he cant, just means he respects and trusts buschur enough to tune his car.

Its kinda like how somebody can stare at a puzzle for hours and not figure it out, but a random person can walk into the room, and figure it out in 2 min.

Well if they wont say it I will. Al, I am jealous of your car, of the parts, of the engine, the power, and pretty much everything else that has gone into it. Also am jealous of your career and the cars you get to tune everyday. Actually I think your my hero. Anyone who wants to flame you for having a 900whp car (street legal) that won't break just for starting it, is insane. Oh yeah...and I am jealous that you have a wife that actually likes your car with that much power. Mine cried at a BR stage 1+ which compared to your 900+whp makes my Evo look like a Ford Fiesta.

i realize that. i just used that analogy cuz im a tattoo freak. I was just trying to get across experts in all fields get other experts to do their work. it is like a fresh set of eyes and hands, that dont have the emotion invested like you would

Why is it that every thread in the forum has to turn into negative comments. The post has NOTHING to do with who tuned his car. It has to do with his wife approving of his evo from owning it soo long. Keep the negative posts out of this thread.
