JDM E9 RS bolt up to 04 E8?
Hi

Would the Jap spec E9 RS turbo (ie Ti/Al 10.5) be a straight bolt up to an 04 E8? If not, what modifications would be necessary?

Probably oil lines/water lines as the USDM evo 9 requires the lines when switching.... Possibly the lower intercooler setup as well.

^ that's it. and tuning change as the rs turbo spools much faster.

Obviously faster than stock with a 10.5. But faster than stock with a 9.8?

Also can you confirm re: LICP? (Im not sure whether you meant that was also required)

yes much faster... the rs turbo comes with mg comp wheel and ti al turbine wheel. that is more of a reduction in rotational mass than even the tme can provide.

The LICP is a really tight fit with the starter. I just put a nine turbo into my evo 8
