Stock motors

What kind of numbers are guys putting down on stock short blocks? is there a HP limit?

I belive I read somewhere that it is around 450? I'm sure that if you search you can find a better answer than mine, but I think it is something like that.

ams has put down 550whp on a stock block, that is definitelyl pushing the limits of the block and it probably wont last long at those power levels but it can be accomplished.

Evodave has been making 558whp I believe for a while now. Not sure if he has built it block by now or not though.

We've eclipsed 550 whp a few times on the stock motor.

Ang Wen Yan, I'd be willing to take the Pepsi challange that there isn't a 100 whp difference between our dynos at that HP level.

I've read that 500-600 CHP is very realistic on the stock block.

I agree with that....track times will tell the story anway.

i made 558 awhp on pump gas/meth stock motor, intake manifold, throttle body (just cams/headstuds in the motor)...it was good power i trapped 129mph on 499 awhp like i ran it every day.
