Slowboy racing here I come!! Engine/turbo/head write-up etc...

For those of you who know my misfortune with the Spun bearing, I think I am pulling the motor out and going with Slowboy Racing. I will probably go with the de-stroked 2.1 motor, and maybe the GT35R and the race head. I will post on here photos/videos/time slips/dyno graphs, feedback etc... I will drag it/roadrace it, and street it. Again, I will do what I can, and report back to you guys/gals. Exact choice and set-up are not decided on yet, but feel free to ask questions as I go along. I am just in the "what setup" phase now, and if all goes as planned, I will be rippin it up at the Winged Warrior event on June 3rd. www.wingedwarrior.net If I cant get it in before then, please stop by and order a burger or a hot-dog from me!!

I dont like the 2.1. It requires an .080 overbore. Thats a lot of meat to take off the precious bore thickness. Also the rods are 6mm longer. So if you ever need a replacement you have to pay. 35r needs 2.3. I have driven 5 cars with 35r/2.0 combo. I couldn't live with any of them. Just no fun waitng for the party to happen. The extra 60-80ft/lbs of torque from 100mm stroke is candy.

You wont have time to look at a tach with the power that you'll be making, just use a shift light. I dont think buschur or ams have upgraded tachs and they shift at 10+k at the strip

I say a 2.0 with a 35R, you won't believe how fast it is.

That is what I wanted at first, but want to see what packages there are for the "overall" racing. best one for drags, and LARGE auto courses. this is your bet?
Thanks for the input!

I was just on SBR site last night and couldnt believe their prices on some of the internals. I think I will be getting my pistons from them at least. Most everything else seems to be on par with the other vendors. SBR has good deals on the more expensive rods as well.

.080 overbore is huge. I would think that you would want to get the block sonic tested to make sure you dont get to close to the water jackets. I live in the desert and that much of an overbore would be a no-no.
