Installed JDM MR BOV ????

I just finsihed installing a jdm mr bov on my 05 MR. Just a few question, is it suppoed to be a flutter bov sound or did i do something wrong, the small tube on the top doesnt fit perfect, it fits but a little tight, anyone else experience this i may just go to AZ and see what they have for longer ones .

Main thing is it supposed to flutter? more than a stock psssh sound with a open intake?

You shouldn't really hear it at all, and it shouldn't flutter.

DO you have it on backwards? Can you take a pic? The hose that goes to the nipple on the BOV should fit exactly the same way it did with the stocker. There should be no change from stock to JDM MR except that the new one is metal instead of plastic.

Most likely you installed it backwards, its not suppose to flutter.

Noob question: But my IX diverter valve flutters slightly under slight boost (like 5 psi) when I let off. I assume this is normal right? It didn't do this until Al crushed my diverter valve when I got tuned...

Mine began to flutter more when I crushed it. It did before too, but not nearly as much.

Thanks. I've made a habit of getting into a decent amount of boost like 10psi or so to let it vent properly, or no boost at all daily driving.

RNM, all you need to do is let off completely - don't let off slowly. Since it's crushed, the spring is compressed more, which means it is tighter and therefore more prone to part-throttle fluttering.

Are there any aftermarket BOV's that don't flutter?

I have the TurboSmart BOV and it flutters as well. Not all the time, but it is still disconcerting. I know you have to let off completely so that it won't flutter.

But, what the heck do you guys do when you are pushing it pretty hard and it starts fluttering mid-turn. At a high rate of speed - letting off mid-turn is an absolute NO-NO. It will unsettle the car too much.

I wanted to get the JDM MR BOV, but if it flutters as well, what's the point.

this is absolutely normal.

about fluttering, it's been brought to my knowledge through some individuals' testings that the size of the vacuum line you use may affect the flutter factor on stock like valves. this means 1gs, jdm valves, greddy type s and the plastic ones that come on 8s.

apparently if you use either a too small or too large (not sure which and could be both) then you will introduce flutter. this to my knowledge only affects the audio aesthetics and does not affect performance at all.

My JDM MR Diverter valve flutters in the lower RPM's when getting off the gas. Weird, I noticed it after my Dynoflash Full-Tune as well.

Glad to know it's not a significant problem, but how can I resolve it.
