intake flash bogus????

Well Just a simple ?. I have searched till my fingers hurt, and i have yet to find anything that would make me want to change my mind... I have had a intake for over 2 years now. No flash no nothing just added a tbe. Had a safc tuned the car and took it off cause of a idling issue all of the sudden out of the blue. What i was wondering from what i have read in a couple of threads is. You need a tune if you get a intake. Now me personally don't see the need..

1: The evo runs rich from the factory. Why would adding more air to the equation not equal out all the richness.
2: This leads me to the question that the evo adds even more fuel to the mix when more air is added which i don't see any clear evidence of this. I expected Buschur(spelled correctly out of respect) TT, or dynoflash to have something That I could decipher but no... ) I just got out of the military and am a point to point type of person. I have yet to see results so I would think that i intake would actually help the car.. I am going to get a flash soon I just wish someone could show me the light.

The intake adds air, but it doesn't magically make your tune perfect. It gives you lean spots, makes the tune erratic, and can cause a loss in power overall. It's not something you mess with. Why did you even add it to begin with? To make noise? It wasn't to make power...

Did you not read his reply? Adding an intake is not a global setting that brings down/leans out the entire fuel map so many points like you can do with an SAFC. It makes things more erratic because the car is tuned to the volume and dynamics of the stock airbox. Messing with that it what causes the erratic results people experience with a flash.
