Question Strange vibration, exhaust or engine?

I have a new '06 Evo IX and I'm getting a strange vibration from time to time right at about 2k rpms. It feels like it is coming from the exhast and will happen under load or in neutral. Could this be a function of the "dual mode" muffler, because it is accompanied by a slightly strange exhaust noise. Also it only happens after I've been driving (not very hard) and stops if I let the car cool down for a while.

Am I being paranoid or could something be wrong?

it's something that didn't happen for the first week or so. It just feels like the engine is off balace and the exhaust note changes. Right around about 1500-25000 rpm and then it smooths out again.

sasquach,
i am having the same problem, i have an 05 evo 8 and between 2100 to 2500 RPMs i get this bad vibration that i can feel very well in the clutch pedal. but there isnt a vibration at lower RPMs or higher RPMs. I thought it was the clutch, transmission but it isnt, the vibration is coming from the engine. I am going to check a few things such as timing marks, motor mounts, balance shaft timing and the downpipe... if i find something i will write back in, please do the same if you figure out what your problem is
