Nitrous IC kits

I always ask Q's...

Anyway, I was talking with my friend about them... he didn't know much and I knew less... so what the hell.

What are the pros/cons of them?

Basically it works alot like our intercooler sprayer does.. It uses a dispersion bar (basically a big hoop with little holes in it) to evenly spray CO2 or Nitrous onto the intercooler surface.. However No2 or CO2 absorbs heat very rapidly (turns to gas very quickly) and has immediate and noticable affect on reducing intake tempurature. The other advantage is that the liquid your using, CO2 or NO2 changes to a gaseous state very rapidly at very low temps.. therefore it won't wet down a track, where a standard water/alcohol intercooler sprayer would drip liquid.
Now here's a caveat with Nitrous.. If you have a open element air cleaner on the car, and its not too far from the Intercooler, or its under the hood where nitrous may get trapped, theres a possibility that the engine can ingest a small amount of nitrous, however nobody has ever addressed whether this affects performance, I can see in theory that a finely tuned engine, on the brink of hitting its limits, could sniff enough to cause harm.. Again, its speculation because I've never seen it. Its actually why CO2 is recommended in the system instead of NO2 (www.zex.com) with liquid sprayers, water or washer fluid is fairly safe, if you want something with a very low vapor point, you may use alcohol, but there is a problem with alcohol, it could catch fire, it could damage paint, and it could damage rubber components over time.

What I'd really like to see is someone put a small Nitrous kit on the EVO to see if you can make significant improvements with a very small amount of nitrous.. Can you see the insanity??

I'm thinkin a 50hp wet kit.... but tuned as small as it goes.. I think a 25hp kit may end up being good for 40 or so HP..
