SSQV from HKS has a recirculation kit you can buy. Also i think the S-AFC may be able to help with the idling problems if you vent to the atmos. ( if you go to the APEX site that is what they claim, anyone know for sure? ). Wing240 from this forum has not had any problems with this BOV. I am waiting for my HKS BOV, so hopefully i will be able to confirm this.

Yeah, let me know if the HKS SSQ works. I plan to get that soon.

We've never had a problem idling with our HKS SSQV Kit. Only issues we have are at high RPM let-offs where the rpms will fall slightly under normal idling conditions but then rise to normal. It has never stalled on us.

Thanks

First off we've never had a problem with the HKS SSQV installed on our Evo 8. We've never had it stall, and we've never had a need to use a different spring.

However, the HKS Super AFR that we use has a feature called EIDS (or Electronic Idle Stabilizer) which automatically compensates for sudden imbalances in air/fuel ratios at idle and deceleration. ie. it leans out the air/fuel a touch to prevent the engine from stalling.

Thanks

Darryl

We haven't found a need to use the EIDS. While the function works great for other cars that stall, our HKS SSQV has never stalled our Evo 8. Not once.

Thanks

Darryl

So the EVO doesnt use a true BOV it use a CBV like in the 2g's? If this is true than every car is different. Some maybe able to vent to the atmospheres and then some may not. There are several DSMer's out there that can vent all day long and not have trouble while others cant keep it running long enough to get it out of the driveway. Im not too keen on the EVO set up but in my 2g I took a film canister and plugged my dump tube first to test and see if I could vent. I could but but it tended to bog down and hinder performance, almost like it was going to die but then the rpms would pick right back up. Just my 2 cents test the set up like this if it works go for it!!!
